Emerson's Craft Beer

Brewed with a passion in Dunedin since the nineties, it is the choice of discerning beer drinkers in New Zealand and the world over.

Bookbinder A wonderfully drinkable interpretation of a classic English ale. Bookbinder is a blend of four malts combined with two classic Nelson grown European hops (Fuggles and Riwaka). The beer pours an attractive reddish brown, with a cream coloured head. Bookbinder has a sweet, perfumey, malt and hop aroma with a soft, malty, fruit and vinous palate that is both full flavoured and refreshing with a long, gently drying finish.

London Porter was Emerson’s first beer. Dark, dry and mellow with some hoppy characteristics, Porter pours a deep brown colour with reddish tints.
The aroma is toasty, with a hint of sweetness and some earthy hop notes. Firm-bodied but not heavy, with a creamy texture, the dryish palate is full of roasted malt, coffeeish notes and a sustained bitterness. Pairs nicely with a blue cheese like Whitestone Windsor.  ABV: 5%

Taieri George Taieri George is named after the most important Emerson of all – Richard’s Dad. Not only was he a founding member of the Taieri Gorge Railway, he was also the brewery’s original Chief Beer Taster. He particularly enjoyed this drop, brewed with cinnamon, nutmeg and Otago clover honey. In his memory,
we release this brew on his birthday. Here’s to you, George.

The original Rimu & Nail Bottle Opener is one of those well crafted objects that Kiwi men are drawn to. Made from NZ native rimu with a single nail forming the lever, it goes easily inside your jeans pocket or attaches to the fridge door by a magnet so he won't be searching for it. The magnet also holds the bottle cap after it released.
